This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee the design and functionality of WCG’s cloud platform as a product.
• Facilitate the transition to a contemporary platform engineering model that emphasizes automation, self-service features, and an enhanced developer experience.
• Define, construct, and manage the internal platform as a product, targeting specific users (developers, IT teams) and establishing measurable results.
• Create and implement a platform roadmap, service catalog, and self-service features that include reusable components and standardized practices.
• Continuously enhance the developer experience (DevEx) by minimizing obstacles and boosting autonomy.
• Design and oversee cloud environments in Azure and AWS, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and resilience strategies are in place.
• Spearhead the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
• Collaborate closely with Security teams to integrate security measures into CI/CD pipelines and platform services.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of seven (7) years in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• At least three (3) years in leadership positions.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure and a working knowledge of AWS.
• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
• Background in implementing DevSecOps practices and secure pipeline development.
• Experience in designing and managing integrations and APIs.
• Familiarity with AI tools and their integration into engineering workflows.
• Proficiency in observability, monitoring, reliability engineering, and incident management practices.
• Strong grasp of identity and access management, including lifecycle and access control models.
• Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments.
