Platform Engineer – Edge, Docker, IIoT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Assist in operating and enhancing one of the largest industrial edge computing systems globally.

• Engage with a network of over **100,000 connected edge devices** utilizing Docker-based applications in demanding real-world settings.

• Address intricate operational challenges on a large scale.

• Work closely with enterprise customers and engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive commercial experience with Docker and Docker Compose.

• Proven experience in supporting Linux systems within production environments.

• Background in deploying applications to remote or distributed edge settings.

• Familiarity with operating systems over unreliable, high-latency, or bandwidth-constrained networks.

• In-depth knowledge of container networking.

• Experience in troubleshooting production systems from a distance.

• Understanding of container image optimization and multi-stage Docker builds.

• Strong skills in Linux troubleshooting.

• Exceptional customer communication capabilities.

• Experience in one or more areas such as: IoT, Industrial IoT (IIoT), IoT gateways, Edge Computing, manufacturing automation, connected vehicles, mining, energy, oil & gas, utilities, retail edge deployments, smart factories, and industrial networking.

• Familiarity with tools and technologies including: Docker Swarm, Portainer, MQTT, OPC-UA, Modbus, edge gateways, VPN technologies, reverse proxies, mTLS, embedded Linux, ARM devices, Systemd, and shell scripting.
