Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, plan, and implement scalable cloud infrastructure enhancements and optimizations utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.

• Continuously enhance Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and the overall cloud ecosystem to boost efficiency, performance, and system reliability.

• Take ownership of monitoring, alerting, and observability frameworks across both production and testing environments.

• Lead investigations into incident responses, carry out technical resolutions, and establish corrective measures post-incident.

• Develop, sustain, and refine software delivery and CI/CD pipelines.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate operational challenges faced by developers.

• Automate routine and repetitive operational tasks.

• Utilize AI-driven coding tools for incident analysis and operational automation.

• Expand internal agent capabilities for the wider engineering team.

• Uphold platform security protocols that align with industry standards.

• Promote security awareness and risk management within the engineering team.

• Convey platform modifications and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Manage complex operational projects across both local and remote teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform.

• Hands-on experience in designing, operating, and managing environments on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

• At least 2 years of practical experience in designing and maintaining robust CI/CD platforms.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience with GitHub or similar version control systems.

• A genuine passion for working with AI coding agents and utilizing advanced automation tools.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• High degree of conscientiousness, self-organization, and ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder projects, both locally and remotely.

• Familiarity with the ISO27001 information security standard.

• Practical knowledge of database platforms such as MongoDB and PostgreSQL.

• Strong technical understanding of containerization technologies.
