Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and oversee AWS infrastructure across all environments.

• Develop and sustain infrastructure as code utilizing Terraform.

• Ensure that environments are dependable, secure, and cost-effective.

• Design and execute infrastructure modifications that facilitate product expansion.

• Create and maintain deployment pipelines that enable engineers to deliver quickly and safely.

• Minimize friction in the development workflow while maintaining reliability.

• Automate repetitive operational tasks to eliminate manual efforts.

• Assist engineers with comprehensive runbooks and infrastructure documentation.

• Monitor system health, establish alert systems, and respond to incidents.

• Implement and uphold security best practices across cloud infrastructure.

• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster preparedness procedures.

• Proactively identify and mitigate reliability risks before they escalate into incidents.

• Actively leverage AI tools to enhance infrastructure workflows, automation, and debugging.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience with AWS, particularly in core services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS, VPC, IAM, and similar).

• Strong expertise in Terraform for infrastructure as code.

• Experience in constructing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

• Authentic, hands-on experience utilizing AI tools in your engineering processes, rather than just familiarity.

• Previous experience at a US-based small startup, with a real understanding of navigating ambiguity and resource constraints.

• Capability to work independently, prioritize tasks without assistance, and make informed decisions amidst uncertainty.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
