This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Take charge of the technical architecture and the long-term advancement of the Web Data Platform.
• Establish engineering standards, architectural guidelines, and technical roadmaps.
• Guide a team of engineers by providing technical direction, mentoring, and consistent feedback.
• Design and construct scalable distributed systems aimed at public web data collection.
• Propel the development of our browser automation platform and data extraction infrastructure.
• Tackle intricate engineering challenges related to JavaScript-intensive websites, browser automation, networking, and anti-bot settings.
• Enhance scalability, resilience, observability, and operational excellence throughout the platform.
• Evaluate architecture, code, and technical designs to uphold high engineering standards.
• Collaborate with Product, Infrastructure, and Platform teams to ensure dependable production systems.
• Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and fostering the professional growth of the engineering team.
• Contribute to shaping the engineering culture through technical excellence, teamwork, and ongoing enhancement.
• Several years of experience in professional software engineering.
• Background as a Technical Lead, Staff Engineer, Engineering Lead, or Software Architect.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and managing large-scale distributed systems.
• Expert proficiency in Python.
• In-depth knowledge of asynchronous programming, concurrency, and high-performance backend systems.
• Robust software architecture and system design capabilities.
• Experience in creating production platforms that function under substantial scale and reliability demands.
• Strong understanding of HTTP, networking, browser internals, JavaScript rendering, cookies, sessions, caching, and contemporary web technologies.
• Exceptional debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
• Strong communication abilities and technical leadership skills.
• Upper-Intermediate English proficiency or above.
• Take ownership of the architecture for one of the company’s most critical technology platforms.
