Platform Accounting Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in month-end closing and reporting for accounting and reconciliation activities.

• Coordinate with internal systems and Kraken's exclusive exchange platform to facilitate fiat and digital asset position reconciliations across various banks and cryptocurrency wallets.

• Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations for the month-end closing process.

• Investigate and rectify discrepancies while communicating findings and actions to cross-functional teams.

• Aid in financial reporting and responding to regulatory inquiries.

• Ensure that consolidated and standalone financial statements meet regulatory requirements across global entities.

• Oversee and enhance reconciliation processes for improved efficiency and transparency.

• Analyze data against business indicators to identify potential issues and trends.

• Maintain and review daily, monthly, and annual reconciliations.

• Assist with both internal and external audits.

• Document procedures and processes to uphold effective controls.

• Engage in ad hoc projects and perform additional responsibilities as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline.

• Over 2 years of accounting or audit experience from a Big 4 or national accounting firm.

• Familiarity with US GAAP.

• Experience with SOX compliance.

• Capability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and H & V-Lookup functions.

• Collaborative, innovative, adaptable, and skilled at fostering relationships within the organization.

• CPA in good standing is a desirable qualification.

• Experience in the crypto, financial services, fintech, broker-dealer, banking, or exchange industries is a plus.

• Familiarity with cryptocurrency is beneficial.

• Knowledge of SQL is preferred.

• Experience with high-volume transactions is an advantage.

• Familiarity with using Netsuite is a plus.

• Must reside and work within US time zones (from Pacific to Eastern).
