Plans Examiner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform thorough assessments of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing plans to ensure adherence to the Florida Building Code and local regulations.

• Deliver clear and concise feedback to clients concerning necessary corrections or clarifications.

• Guarantee that plan reviews are conducted within designated timelines to fulfill same-day or next-day service commitments.

• Effectively communicate with contractors, design professionals, and permitting officials to address inquiries or resolve issues.

• Keep abreast of updates in building codes and regulations and incorporate them into your reviews.

• Maintain precise records of reviews, communication, and project status.

• Work collaboratively with the inspection team to ensure a smooth transition from plan review to project completion.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in building code plan review or a related area.

• Certification as a Plans Examiner or the capability to obtain certification within six months of employment (preferred: ICC or Florida Board of Building Code Administrators).

• Comprehensive knowledge of the Florida Building Code, encompassing structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and energy provisions.

• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including blueprints and specifications.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging client interactions.

• Exceptional attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple projects at once.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and permitting software (preferred).
