This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.
β’ Review and assess architectural designs, structural blueprints, and various building elements.
β’ Evaluate heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure they meet efficiency, safety, and performance standards.
β’ Offer insights to architects, engineers, designers, and contractors regarding inconsistencies in plans or violations of codes.
β’ Keep detailed records of all plan assessments, including requests for further information, plan approvals, and denials.
β’ Act as a resource for applicants, designers, and municipal collaborators by providing code interpretations, consultations, or preliminary review sessions throughout the project lifecycle from development to occupancy.
β’ Participate in professional development to remain informed about the latest code changes, standards, and best practices.
β’ High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
β’ Must possess a State of Wisconsin Commercial Building Inspector License or a PE/Arch License.
β’ Competence in using Microsoft Office 365 and its associated applications.
β’ Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
β’ Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
β’ Must have a valid driverβs license.
β’ Preferred qualifications include:
β’ Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu.
β’ State of Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code Certifications in Construction and HVAC Inspection.
β’ ICC Certifications as a Building Plan Examiner and HVAC Plan Examiner.
β’ ICC Certification as an Accessibility Plan Examiner, Energy Compliance Plan Examiner, Certified Fire Marshal, Building Official, Master Code Professional, or other comparable certifications.
β’ Professional Engineer licensure in the State of Wisconsin.
β’ Registered Architect licensure in the State of Wisconsin.
β’ 1 to 3 years of experience as a municipal building inspector, construction contractor project manager, and/or a designer at an architectural or engineering design firm.
β’ Ability to work remotely from home, provided it's within Wisconsin or Ohio.
