PKI Engineer – Certificate Management Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the implementation aligned with Federal PKI and DHS PKI policies.

• Oversee the processes involved in the certificate lifecycle, including issuance, rekeying, modification, revocation, and reissuance.

• Facilitate the processing of device certificate requests through digital workflows.

• Provide support for DHS CA4 and external CA processes in accordance with agency guidelines.

• Assist with the Non-Person Entity certificate authority for workstations and mobile/Apple devices.

• Support person-centric PKI certificate authority and manage certificate lifecycle systems.

• Automate the certificate management processes to minimize manual errors and reduce approval delays.

• Aid in the modernization of PIV-based PKI certificate AuthN/AuthZ within USCIS applications.

• Research, design, and implement PKI/cloud/certificate solutions utilizing COTS, open-source, and cloud-native tools.

• Develop SOPs, how-to videos, knowledge base articles, process documentation, presentations, and release documentation.

• Offer recommendations for enhancing cloud resource performance and security.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient experience with PKI and certificate lifecycle management.

• Familiarity with Federal PKI and/or DHS PKI policies.

• Experience supporting the processes of certificate issuance, rekeying, modification, revocation, and reissuance.

• Knowledge of certificate authorities and certificate management systems.

• Capability to support PIV-based certificate authentication and authorization.

• Ability to obtain a favorable EOD/suitability and maintain necessary USCIS access.

• U.S. citizenship is likely required for DHS IT access unless a waiver is granted — please confirm before final posting.
