Value Added Services Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Taiwan.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the customer’s network operations department to handle deployment, maintenance, management, and daily operational tasks.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot any anomalies in AppLogic Network equipment or systems.

• Propose system configuration change recommendations and assist in their execution.

• Conduct software maintenance and updates for all devices and solutions within the AppLogic Network.

• Proactively monitor system health, KPIs, logs, and alerts, responding promptly to any issues that arise.

• Adhere to the customer’s change management and maintenance window operational procedures.

• Utilize analytical tools (such as traffic analyzers, simulators, traffic detectors, MRTG, PRTG, SNMP polling, system logs, etc.) for traffic monitoring and troubleshooting.

• Lead cross-departmental analysis and technical discussions to prevent recurring issues.

• Submit and escalate requests to the second line (L2) support team as needed.

• Manage and track cases, ensuring issues are resolved appropriately to enhance customer satisfaction.

• Provide consultative support and guidance to junior team members.

• Actively participate in quality reviews and continuous team improvement initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other STEM-related fields.

• Over five years of relevant work experience.

• Native-level proficiency in Chinese, with professional reading and writing skills in English.

• Proficient in Unix/Linux system operations.

• Familiar with virtualization technologies (such as VMware, KVM), OpenStack deployment, and automation tools (such as Ansible).

• Knowledgeable in cloud architectures (AWS, Google Cloud), container and orchestration concepts (Kubernetes, Swarm), and related tools (Docker, Jenkins).

• Understanding of virtualization concepts such as NUMA, SR-IOV, PCI passthrough, and Virtio.

• In-depth understanding of NFV (Network Functions Virtualization) and MANO/ONAP architectures.

• Proficient in programming or scripting languages (such as Python, Perl).

• Familiarity with web technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, HTTP, Angular).

• Experience in modern web application development (Ajax, REST API preferred).

• Knowledge of data modeling and database management (Vertica, SQL/PostgreSQL).

• Experience operating SQL databases and monitoring network traffic in telecommunications, ISP, or cable network environments.

• Strong communication skills and experience in cross-departmental collaboration.
