This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Korea.

📋 Description

• Establish a robust medical and scientific presence for AbbVie at investigational sites and prominent scientific centers.

• Facilitate clinical research and interventional phase 1–3 trials involving AbbVie medications.

• Address requests for medical and scientific information regarding relevant products and therapeutic areas.

• Collaborate with Site Management & Monitoring staff on site feasibility assessments, engagement, training, recruitment challenges, and site inquiries.

• Offer scientific and technical leadership in interactions with investigators.

• Consult with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals about patient referrals to clinical trial sites and clinical practice topics.

• Act as the primary contact with external thought leaders for Sponsor-initiated study proposals involving AbbVie pipeline assets.

• Present scientific information on the disease area and AbbVie’s pipeline to investigators.

• Participate in identifying qualified external experts for research collaborations, advisory boards, congresses, and symposia.

• Identify R&D collaboration opportunities with institutions and thought leaders and coordinate with Search & Evaluation, Discovery, and Clinical Development teams.

• Facilitate the gathering of medical and scientific field intelligence and share insights within AbbVie.

• Attend relevant internal and external scientific meetings and conferences.

• Assist with named-patient or compassionate-use medicine access requests when requested and legally permissible.

• Provide early insights on clinical practice, identify tier 1 external experts, and contribute scientific input to future clinical development programs.

• Formulate long-term medical strategies and plans from clinical trials to health-authority approval and access of pipeline assets.

• Ensure all activities adhere to applicable laws, regulations, codes, company policies, and best practices.

• Offer scientific and technical input to local study teams, early brand teams, and external investigators under appropriate medical governance.

• Collaborate with Medical Information teams on unsolicited off-label information requests.

• Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with investigators and thought leaders to enhance AbbVie’s research and pipeline success.

⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced degree (e.g. PhD, PharmD, MD) in a relevant scientific and biological discipline is highly preferred; candidates with an undergraduate degree in a relevant field and proven experience will also be considered.

• A minimum of 8+ years of professional experience in medical affairs or a similar field-based R&D position involving clinical trials and clinical development.

• Strong knowledge of the immunology clinical research landscape and the execution and management of clinical trials.

• Proven ability to foster and maintain excellent working relationships with internal stakeholders, study investigators, and site personnel.

• Solid knowledge and problem-solving abilities to further the medical and scientific objectives of a pharmaceutical company.

• Exceptional initiative and judgement with the capability to represent AbbVie positively and in compliance.

• Expertise in scientific methods relevant to clinical research and familiarity with current legislative/regulatory controls applicable to this research.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

• Ability to develop and sustain collaborative relationships with thought leaders, physicians, and other healthcare decision-makers.

• A good understanding of written and spoken English is desirable.

• Strong commitment to compliance with relevant regulations and procedures, as well as to scientific quality and integrity.
