Pilot Operator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• The RPO functions as both the pilot and various controllers within the Air Traffic Controller training simulator.

• The RPO utilizes a simulated radar display alongside a voice communication system to replicate the actions and dialogues of pilots and remote ATC facilities during both medium and high-fidelity training sessions.

• RPOs take voice instructions from students, accurately input necessary data into the automated system to emulate pilot behaviors, interpret displayed information into suitable ATC terminology, and communicate effectively with the student via the VCS using the correct phraseology.

• The selected candidate will be expected to complete specific certifications: Classroom (passing an examination on airspace and procedures) and Lab (acting as a Remote Pilot Operator across all positions).

⛳️ Requirements

• Applicants for this role **must possess at least a high school diploma (or equivalent)** and exhibit fundamental computer skills.

• US Citizenship is mandatory, along with the capacity to obtain and retain a Public Trust clearance.

• Experience collaborating within a multidisciplinary team (including Multimedia Developers, Quality Assurance, Instructional System Designers, Subject Matter Experts, and Instructors) is essential.

• Previous experience and certification in ATC Tower, TRACON, or En Route simulation labs is highly preferred, but not obligatory.

• Strong oral and written communication skills are required.

• A working knowledge of the FAAO JO 7110.65 is highly favored, though not essential.

• Strong team-building abilities are necessary.

• Proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) is required.

• Basic familiarity with contemporary technological tools (such as tablets, notebooks, applications, etc.) is expected.

• Basic understanding or experience with pilot/controller communications or phraseology is desired.
