Physician, Virtual Care – Part-Time, IMLC Required

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide care to patients across acute, primary, and longevity sectors through messaging: diagnose, treat, triage, and follow up.

• Collaborate with Counsel's AI, acting as a knowledgeable partner that has already reviewed patient charts: it organizes history, enhances differential diagnosis, and drafts communications.

• Maintain high standards in every interaction: prioritize clinical reasoning, patient safety, and effective communication.

• Remain a generalist, addressing in-scope clinical issues directly and directing patients to the most appropriate next steps within the healthcare system when needed.

• Partner with the CMO and VP of Care Delivery on crafting guidelines, conducting peer reviews, and developing clinical systems to ensure safe care as the team expands.

• Guide and mentor less experienced clinicians; share successful strategies; elevate standards without focusing solely on personal achievements.

• Counsel operates on a foundational principle: clinicians take precedence, followed by technologists. The design team values your feedback, instincts, and preferences.

• A process that frustrates you this week can be improved in the following weeks. A much-anticipated tool can be made available to you within months.

⛳️ Requirements

• Board certification in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine, along with membership in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) and possession of an IMLC Letter of Qualification.

• Over 3 years of post-residency clinical experience (urgent care, ER, primary care, or a diverse generalist background).

• A genuine interest in acute, primary, and longevity care.

• Comfort with fully virtual, asynchronous, messaging-based care delivery.

• Strong written communication skills, as most patient interactions occur in writing.

• Bonus points for holding active licenses in CA, FL, and/or NY!

• Previous experience in telehealth, virtual-first, or direct-to-consumer healthcare settings.

• Familiarity with integrating longevity practices into your clinical approach.

• An informed perspective on the use of AI in clinical settings - you have utilized these tools and developed opinions about them.

• Background in fast-paced acute environments (ER, urgent care) where triage instincts are instinctive.
