This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +4 more states.
β’ The Physician Program Director (PPD) is dedicated to developing formal Impella programs by fostering sustainable relationships with account stakeholders and key opinion leaders (KOLs) in the hemodynamic support sector.
β’ The PPD is tasked with cultivating and overseeing strategic partnerships with key opinion leaders, thought leaders, and subject matter experts to further the organization's scientific, medical, and commercial objectives.
β’ This position ensures effective engagement, collaboration, and communication between the company and its network of experts to bolster brand credibility, education, and innovation.
β’ The PPD represents all facets of Abiomed and acts as a field liaison to connect hospitals with internal resources such as the medical office, research, marketing, and executive teams.
β’ The PPD will collaborate with hospitals and administrators to pinpoint areas for program efficiencies through the implementation of best practices, protocol development, and workflow enhancements, ensuring the program's long-term viability.
β’ The PPD will work to identify program gaps and align internal resources as necessary to support the hospitals' objectives.
β’ The PPD will partner with systems of care and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) to facilitate the adoption of best practices across the hospitals in the system.
β’ BA/BS is required; MBS or MBA is preferred.
β’ A minimum of 4 successful years of sales experience with Abiomed or over 7 years of related industry sales experience demonstrating proven success.
β’ Previous experience in KOL management or established connections in the geographic area.
β’ Experience collaborating with C-Suite hospital administrators.
β’ Prior experience partnering with leaders of IDNs or systems of care.
β’ Must be willing to travel extensively overnight (70% depending on geography).
β’ Strong understanding of US healthcare policy and payment systems, including hospital and physician reimbursement.
β’ Exceptional interpersonal skills, with experience developing relationships at all organizational levels to influence business objectives.
β’ Ability to balance strategic thinking with detailed planning and robust tactical execution.
β’ Demonstrates responsiveness and a sense of urgency.
β’ Capable of prioritizing work and managing multiple priorities effectively.
β’ Proven ability to manage projects effectively and drive initiatives to completion.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation abilities.
β’ Mastery of cardiac anatomy and clinical data.
β’ Proficient in computer skills, with strong expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for data analysis, documentation, and presentations.
