Physical Security Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• The Physical Security Systems Engineer is tasked with the design, implementation, integration, and continuous support of enterprise physical security systems.

• This position collaborates with security operations, IT, facilities, and external vendors to ensure that physical security technologies are dependable, scalable, compliant, and aligned with the organization's risk management goals.

• Ensure that systems fulfill security, compliance, and resiliency standards.

• Integrate physical security platforms with IT infrastructure, identity management systems, and SOC tools.

• Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for issues related to physical security systems.

• Conduct system tuning, health monitoring, and root cause analysis.

• Assist with physical security projects from initial concept through to deployment.

• Evaluate vendor designs, statements of work (SOWs), and acceptance testing.

• Ensure adherence to corporate policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Security Systems, or an equivalent level of experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in supporting enterprise physical security systems.

• Practical experience with leading security platforms such as LenelS2, Genetec, CCURE, and AMAG (ACS).

• Experience with Milestone, Avigilon, and Genetec (VMS).

• Strong knowledge of IP networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, PoE).

• Familiarity with server infrastructure (Windows/Linux).

• Understanding of databases and system integrations.

• Ability to read and create technical schematics and drawings.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to work collaboratively across security, IT, facilities, and leadership teams.

• Comfortable managing sensitive security information.

• Experience in global or multi-site security environments is preferred.

• Familiarity with cloud-hosted or hybrid security platforms is preferred.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles as they relate to physical security systems is preferred.

• Experience in supporting 24/7 SOC operations is preferred.

• Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification is preferred but not required.

• Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification is preferred but not required.

• Manufacturer certifications (Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Milestone) are preferred but not required.

• Relevant networking or IT certifications (e.g., Network+, CCNA) are preferred but not required.
