Pharmacy Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Deliver outstanding customer service in a phone-based setting.

• Accurately input high volumes of data and handle prescription information.

• Manage prescription authorizations, clarifications, and transfers.

• Conduct claim adjudication and auditing, including prior authorizations, billing, and eligibility checks.

• Navigate through case queues to address patient care concerns.

• Act as a liaison between clinical pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.

• Collaborate with technicians and pharmacists to onboard new patients.

• Uphold the confidentiality of patient records.

• Retrieve and confirm prescription information through calls to doctors.

• Make welcome calls to newly onboarded patients.

• Create, manage, and update patient medication profiles via outbound calls.

• Provide backup support during peak patient call volumes.

• Assist patients with inquiries over the phone.

• Support ExactCare’s nationwide patient base in a high-volume environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

• Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Health Association (NHA) with a current certificate.

• Must maintain pharmacy technician registration with the State Board of Pharmacy.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Previous experience in a pharmacy environment.

• Capability to work in an office or remote setting, requiring 90% of time spent seated at a desk.

• Comfortable working in a phone-based atmosphere.

• Ability to work independently.

• Proficient in utilizing computer equipment, technology, and various software applications.

• Exceptional customer service skills via phone communication.

• Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceuticals.

• Familiarity with pharmacy billing procedures.

• Understanding of prescription processes, clarifications, and transfers.

• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

• Capacity to think critically and document details in accordance with state and federal regulations.

• Must be eligible to work in the country.

• Must be able to travel to multiple site locations within the designated territory.
