• Consistently demonstrate kindness and compassion while delivering knowledgeable and courteous support to patients, providers, and pharmacy team members.
• Conduct assigned outbound patient refill calls and efficiently process patient refill requests.
• Address, resolve, and appropriately triage incoming inquiries.
• Clarify prescription orders with the pharmacist and/or clinician as needed.
• Proactively manage medication refills, including data entry and ensuring the correct days' supply is recorded for all fills.
• Follow through with claim adjudication, troubleshooting, and resolving reject codes.
• Collaborate with the pharmacy to maintain proper inventory levels of medications.
• Identify medications that require special storage or handling, such as hazardous or refrigerated medications.
• Recognize necessary supplies for specific medications, including sharps containers, needles/syringes, alcohol swabs, and Band-Aids.
• Appropriately discontinue patients from service when necessary.
• Accurately document work across all systems.
• Manage, organize, and update relevant data using database applications.
• Perform additional duties that facilitate patient access to medications as assigned.
• Apply observations and recommendations to operational challenges, enhancing productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
• Identify trends, resolve issues, recommend enhancements, and implement changes.
• Actively engage in process improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a value-added business partner to stakeholders across the organization.
• Safeguard the organization's value by maintaining confidentiality of information.
• Stay updated on knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, networking, and being involved in professional organizations.
• Required Licensure/Certification: We are looking for experienced pharmacy technicians who are state-registered as pharmacy technicians. National certification as a CPhT or equivalent is highly preferred but not mandatory. Should additional licensure be necessary, the candidate must commit to obtaining the required licensure within a mutually agreed timeline. Continued employment is contingent upon meeting these requirements.
• Years of Experience: Required: 1+ years; Preferred: 5-8 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician. Experience collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals (preferably in a medical clinic) is advantageous.
• Education: A high school diploma or GED is required.
