This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with pharmacists to create and implement clinical pharmacy initiatives aimed at reducing costs while enhancing or maintaining the quality of patient care.
• Evaluate pharmaceutical acquisitions and engage in key prescriber discussions with the clinical pharmacy team of the healthcare organization to confirm and assess opportunities for improved formulary management.
• Enhance market share and product standardization to achieve optimal pricing.
• Develop therapeutic interchange programs.
• Implement automatic therapeutic interchanges.
• Identify opportunities for IV to oral conversions.
• Partner with clinical leaders to review and facilitate changes in formulary management.
• Maintain and support standardized documents, tools, and calculators that bolster consulting offerings.
• Assist the team in assessing and prioritizing requests for new and significant formulary additions; create draft protocols, clinical tools, and order sets as necessary.
• Foster innovation in offerings by networking with key clinical pharmacy opinion leaders, gathering novel information, and reviewing relevant literature.
• Conduct practical evaluations of pharmacy and medication management programs across member health systems, infusion centers, ambulatory surgery centers, and related provider offices and clinics.
• Provide insights and solutions based on evidence-based literature, regulatory standards, data analysis, and best practices from other Vizient member health systems.
• Leverage industry-leading practices, pharmaceutical care standards, and benchmark comparisons to devise strategic operational plans that will enhance the pharmacy program's value, efficiency, and service excellence.
• Develop project work plans and offer hands-on implementation support to accomplish high-priority objectives.
• Meet or surpass contractual value targets for all designated projects.
• Achieve outstanding member satisfaction scores upon completion of engagements.
• Create and present impactful communications with clarity and confidence to senior executives within health systems.
• Support Vizient consulting practice activities, including the development, launch, and implementation of new or enhanced services and products.
• A degree in Pharmacy is mandatory.
• PharmD is preferred.
• A Master’s degree in business is an advantage.
• A minimum of 7 years of leadership experience in Health Systems and/or Hospital Pharmacy is required.
• Relevant experience in pharmacy within an acute care hospital is essential.
• Familiarity with 340B is preferred.
• Experience with Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee activities is preferred.
• Registration with the Board of Pharmacy is required, and completion of a pharmacy residency (ASHP approved residency) is preferred.
• Capability to travel regularly and efficiently throughout the year to accommodate clients’ needs and schedules.
