This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Accurately process prescriptions for all programs and medications.
• Address insurance billing concerns with third-party payers and patient support programs.
• Offer customer service to clinic staff, nurses, and physicians via phone and email.
• Adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures and relevant Provincial College of Pharmacists regulations.
• Guarantee safe and proper medication storage.
• Participate in the review of pharmacy policies and procedures.
• Manage and reconcile inventory, including ordering and organizing stock and packaging materials.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with healthcare providers, reimbursement coordinators, private payers, and patients.
• Coordinate delivery services and couriers to ensure timely prescription delivery.
• Contact patients to arrange for medication refills.
• Attend and engage in staff meetings.
• Assist with additional tasks assigned by the pharmacist or manager, within the scope of practice.
• Work independently under the guidance of a pharmacist and collaborate with the pharmacy team.
• Cross-train and support other pharmacy areas as permitted by the scope of practice.
• Completion of a post-secondary diploma in Pharmacy Assistant or Pharmacy Technician program.
• At least 1 year of experience in a pharmacy environment.
• Proficiency in Kroll is required.
• Strong computer skills in Windows environments and MS Office (Excel, Word).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
• Ability to communicate in additional languages is an asset.
• Familiarity with specialty medications and third-party billing issues is a plus.
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
• Capable of self-managing time, setting daily priorities, and multitasking to meet competing deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Capability to stand for extended periods and lift and move up to 50 pounds.
