This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Engage in a compensated, ten-week summer internship focused on pharmaceutical sales.
• Participate in company orientation and product training during the initial half of the internship.
• Successfully finish product training prior to transitioning into the field.
• Acquire practical field experience in a specified geographic area during the latter half.
• Operate in the field alongside a District Manager or Sales Representative.
• Collaborate regularly with Sales leaders to prepare for and reflect on field experiences.
• Receive guidance and constructive feedback.
• Progress weekly toward achieving a Product Core Call certification in the final week.
• Create a pre-call plan and role-play scenario that highlights AbbVie’s value proposition to healthcare providers.
• Present a final intern presentation covering sales performance drivers, brand KPIs, financial objectives, and marketing goals.
• Travel between AbbVie headquarters located in Lake County, Illinois, and the assigned geographic district.
• Must currently be enrolled in a university, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, a related business field, biological sciences, pharmacy, or a comparable discipline.
• Must be enrolled in university for the semester following the internship.
• Must graduate between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Basic understanding of the healthcare or biotechnology industry.
• Comfortable with frequent travel by air and ground.
• Willingness to relocate upon full-time employment.
• Strong communication abilities with the capacity to adapt to various scenarios.
• Eager to learn; self-motivated with a high degree of discipline.
• Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal, leadership, and project management capabilities.
• Proven experience in teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity.
• Interest in pursuing a sales career that requires strong clinical knowledge.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
