This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iraq.
• Provide counsel to senior officials.
• Support USMILGP-Iraq in overseeing and executing advisory activities at the ministerial level.
• Create strategies for ministerial engagement.
• Facilitate processes for decision-making and sharing of information.
• Cultivate and sustain professional relationships.
• Establish trusted connections with ministry leadership.
• Aid in the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of policies and procedures.
• Promote civil-military integration.
• Offer advice, prepare reports, deliver briefings, and make recommendations.
• Plan and oversee operational and administrative planning.
• Monitor and track organizational priorities.
• Develop engagements with key leaders.
• Improve the effectiveness of advisors.
• Coordinate with senior Iraqi and coalition leaders.
• Active Scope Secret clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Proficient in Arabic and possess full professional fluency in English (Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing).
• Proficient in Kurdish and possess full professional fluency in English (Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing).
• Comprehensive understanding of the organizational structure and operations of the Iraqi Ministry of Defense.
• Previous experience at a strategic level with U.S. forces in Iraq since 2011.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in civil-military relations, democratic governance, and defense institution development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
