Personal Financial Educator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Deliver personalized consultation, education, training, and information referral services to support the Personal Financial Management (PFM) Program.

• Organize, promote, and conduct a diverse range of Personal Financial Management classes and workshops.

• Address requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars tailored for youth and teens.

• Provide both initial and refresher training for Command Financial Specialists (CFS).

• Assist Command Financial Specialists in the creation of General Military Training (GMT) related to Personal Financial Management topics.

• Offer in-person support on Navy ships for Shipboard events and Return and Reunions (R&R).

• Provide personalized financial counseling and support to service members and their families.

• Enhance marketing and outreach efforts to raise awareness and encourage the use of program services.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree.

• Must obtain and maintain national certification as an Accredited Financial Counselor.

• At least two years of experience in delivering financial education and training.

• Experience in presenting and facilitating training sessions for both large and small groups in financial management.

• Proficiency in utilizing various digital technologies to conduct virtual training.

• Experience in providing one-on-one consultations with varying degrees of complexity.

• Familiarity with the development and implementation of needs assessment tools (e.g., surveys).

• Understanding of military life and its associated challenges.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with Command Financial Specialists.

• Competence in using various technological tools to facilitate virtual service delivery.
