This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.
• Deliver personal financial counseling services to military personnel and their families.
• Assist service members in creating a spending plan for prolonged absences.
• Develop and provide informational financial resources.
• Organize and conduct Personal Financial Management classes and workshops.
• Address requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Effectively use virtual counseling and other electronic communication methods.
• Manage duty to warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) protocols.
• Engage with leadership and take part in regular individual and group supervision.
• Participate in ongoing in-service training and quality improvement committees.
• A bachelor's degree is required.
• Applicants with an associate degree and 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• Applicants with a high school diploma and 6 years of experience may also be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial counseling is required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and fluent in English.
• If required by the contract, bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is necessary.
• Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation is essential.
• Must successfully pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
