This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Deliver crisis intervention, emotional support, and resources through telephone communication.
• Provide crisis-counseling services aiming to respond to 95% of calls within 20 seconds or fewer.
• Conduct safety assessments, develop safety plans, de-escalate situations, and follow up with individuals seeking help.
• Act as a mandated reporter in instances of suspected abuse or neglect.
• Keep accurate and comprehensive contact reports.
• Guide and mentor volunteers throughout their training process.
• Participate in regularly scheduled meetings for the Suicide Prevention Center.
• At least six months of relevant experience in behavioral health.
• Preferred one year of experience in crisis intervention or suicide prevention.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Aged 18 years or older.
• Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
• Excellent multi-tasking and time management abilities.
• Proven proficiency in utilizing web-based platforms and electronic documentation systems.
• Access to high-speed internet with an active Ethernet connection.
• Must be empathetic, flexible, and adaptable.
• Open availability and flexibility to work within the program’s operating hours.
• Dependable with the ability to adhere to schedules.
• Required to complete annual continuing education trainings.
• Knowledgeable in all job-specific skills.
