Mental Health Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide personalized and engaging virtual counseling and support that aligns with each student's mental health objectives, IEP social-emotional goals, and individual psychological profile.

• Develop structured intervention strategies and wellness plans that tackle issues such as school-related anxiety, executive dysfunction, depression, behavioral challenges, or social-emotional learning (SEL) milestones.

• Modify support in real time based on the student’s crisis levels, engagement, and emotional regulation, ensuring a safe, empathetic, and confidential virtual environment.

• Monitor student progress and maintain effective communication with families, school psychologists, and school district partners to guarantee comprehensive care and adherence to regulatory standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current state licensure/certification (e.g., LMHC, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or certified School Counselor).

• Experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults in educational, clinical, or tele-health environments.

• In-depth knowledge of IEPs, 504 plans, and the influence of mental health on academic success.

• Capability to create and implement lesson plans that align with student goals and accommodations.

• Proficient in virtual instruction — comfortable using video conferencing tools, digital whiteboards, and maintaining student engagement online.

• Ability to successfully pass a background check.

• Access to a reliable computer, internet connection, webcam, and a quiet workspace.

• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is an advantage.
