
Personal Financial Counselor, Assignment Ready Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Vermont.
• Deliver support during short-term, surge, and on-demand scenarios
• Offer a complete range of personal financial counseling services to military personnel and their families
• Conduct one-on-one counseling, collaborate with commanders or other providers, and facilitate briefings and presentations
• Create and distribute informative financial resources for service members and their families
• Organize, promote, and conduct a diverse array of Personal Financial Management classes and workshops
• Address requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars
• Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing virtual counseling and other electronic communication methods
• Handle duty to warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) protocols
• Engage with leadership and take part in regular individual and group supervision
• Participate in ongoing in-service training, quality improvement committees, or other contract-related activities as assigned or deemed appropriate.
• A bachelor's degree is required
• Applicants with an associate degree and 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree
• Applicants with a high school diploma and 6 years of experience may also be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial counseling is required
• Must be a U.S. citizen and proficient in English
• If contractually required, must be bilingual in English and Spanish
• Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
• Must be able to successfully complete the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process
• Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
