This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Our mission is to transform the concept of "tutoring" by utilizing advanced performance metrics and innovative teaching strategies to provide solutions for our students.
• We are expanding our college admissions team and seeking exceptional college admissions counselors who are committed to helping their students achieve success.
• Selecting a college is a significant decision and investment, making it essential to offer our families comprehensive support.
• Our admissions team develops a detailed playbook for families that addresses every step of the application process, ensuring that each student gains acceptance to their preferred colleges.
• We implement a targeted plan to achieve goals and submit standout applications.
• Our CP Coaches will assess curricula, internship opportunities, essential extracurricular activities, as well as strategies for Early Decision (ED), Restrictive Early Action (REA), Early Application (EA), and Regular Decision (RD).
• In recognition of their efforts, our instructors receive excellent compensation, performance-based bonuses, and significant growth opportunities.
• A minimum of five years of experience as an admissions officer/reader at a selective college, including but not limited to roles as a high school counselor, independent counselor, or college counseling professional in a business environment.
• A comprehensive understanding of the high school curriculum, AP, IB, and all standardized tests, including the ACT, SAT, and other assessments.
• Experience working with students in grades 7-12, transfer applications, and private/boarding school candidates.
• A proven history of student success across various academic programs, including specializations such as direct med, engineering, etc.
• Effective strategies for differentiating a student's application and constructing an impressive portfolio.
• Experience in athletic recruitment and other specialized areas.
• Excellent writing skills and a strong grasp of the current admissions landscape.
• Engaging, knowledgeable, motivating, and capable of building a team.
• Expertise in the distinctions between public, private, charter, and boarding school environments.
• Proficient in Naviance, Scoir, and other college admissions software.
• Familiarity with all application platforms (Common App, Coalition App, Apply Texas, and specific school applications).
• Thorough knowledge of the college admissions process, various types of schools, available resources, and educational environments.
• A successful track record of placing students in selective colleges, prestigious high school internships, and other extracurricular activities.
• In-depth understanding of the financial aid process, scholarship options, and additional assistance.
• Capability to create personalized plans for high school students, including course selection, exploration of academic interests, extracurricular activities, and summer programs.
• Awareness of the academic and social demands of high school and the competitive college admissions landscape.
• Conduct ongoing research on school profiles, course catalogs, and academic programs to offer well-informed guidance tailored to individual student needs.
• Knowledge of academic programs and competitions such as DECA, Science/Math Olympiads, AMC math competitions, Science Fairs, STEM competitions, etc.
• A leader with exceptional communication, organization, and writing abilities to support families and mentor students throughout the admissions process.
• Creative, driven, and full of energy to foster life skills, self-esteem, and confidence through positive reinforcement.
• Proficient in technology.
