This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon, +1 more state.
• Oversee the complete OSP permitting process from initiation to approval.
• Prepare, submit, monitor, and secure telecom construction permits.
• Conduct quality assessments of permit packages and engineering documents prior to submission.
• Evaluate projects for adherence to NESC standards, utility requirements, and local municipal regulations.
• Manage permits related to right-of-way, encroachment, excavation, and traffic control.
• Collaborate with municipalities, utilities, engineering teams, design vendors, and project managers.
• Investigate jurisdiction-specific requirements and address permitting challenges.
• Track the status of permits and maintain precise documentation and reporting.
• Monitor SLAs, KPIs, and project timelines, escalating any potential delays.
• Review engineering and facility information to ensure permit accuracy.
• Address jurisdictional comments and coordinate revisions until final approval is achieved.
• Keep organized records of applications, approvals, revisions, and correspondence with jurisdictions.
• Prior experience in OSP telecommunications permitting.
• Strong grasp of OSP fiber construction and engineering processes.
• Familiarity with NESC standards and their relevance to OSP telecommunications initiatives.
• Experience liaising directly with municipal, county, state, and/or utility permitting agencies.
• Preference for candidates with experience interpreting city and municipal codes in Washington and/or Oregon.
• Preferred experience with PSE, SnoPUD, Clark County PUD/Clark Public Utilities, PGE, or similar utilities.
• Ziply experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with right-of-way, encroachment, excavation, and traffic control permitting.
• Capability to review engineering drawings and permit packages for precision and compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple jurisdictions and deadlines concurrently.
• Preferred experience with project tracking, GIS, engineering, or facility assignment databases.
• NEPA/environmental permitting experience is advantageous.
• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%, if necessary.
• Knowledge of NESC requirements, utility standards, and local jurisdiction codes.
