Performance Test Engineer, NeoLoad

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Analyze nonfunctional requirements, operational volumes, response-time objectives, service-level goals, and business processes to establish quantifiable performance test scenarios and acceptance criteria.

• Develop, construct, parameterize, correlate, and sustain reusable NeoLoad scripts, workloads, test data, and execution profiles for SAP Fiori, web applications, APIs, and associated enterprise interfaces.

• Strategize and conduct baseline, load, stress, spike, endurance, and scalability testing.

• Mimic realistic concurrent users, transaction mixes, and peak transportation workloads.

• Gather and correlate NeoLoad results with application, database, server, and infrastructure telemetry.

• Detect bottlenecks, throughput limitations, error rates, and response-time deterioration.

• Evaluate end-to-end performance across SAP S/4HANA logistics and financial workflows and integrated services.

• Document performance insights with reproducible workloads, evidence, trends, and recommendations.

• Monitor remediation and retesting efforts, and relay risks to program leadership.

• Collaborate with architects, developers, infrastructure, functional teams, and testers.

• Engage in PI planning, iteration planning, demonstrations, and defect triage.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Secret clearance (mandatory).

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

• At least 5 years of experience in software performance engineering or testing of large-scale enterprise applications.

• Practical experience with NeoLoad.

• Demonstrated capability to create and troubleshoot NeoLoad scripts, configure load generators, model realistic workloads, analyze results, and generate actionable performance reports.

• In-depth understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, REST APIs, concurrency, throughput, latency, percentiles, error rates, resource utilization, and bottleneck identification.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication abilities.

• Experience working collaboratively with technical and functional teams in Agile/SAFe environments.

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 10%.

• Preferred: Experience in performance testing of SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, SAP logistics/finance modules, and enterprise integrations.

• Preferred: Familiarity with NeoLoad Web/Controller, monitoring integrations, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Git, observability tools, and ServiceNow or Jira.

• Preferred: Certifications such as Tricentis NeoLoad, ISTQB, SAFe, or other relevant performance engineering credentials.

• Preferred: Prior experience supporting federal government projects.
