Performance Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Enhancing Akamai's content delivery solutions through collaborative efforts across various functions, data-informed strategies, and an emphasis on performance, availability, reliability, and efficiency.

• Addressing escalations to assess capacity impacts.

• Formulating strategies for the allocation of Akamai's global capacity across products to ensure a balance between efficiency, resilience, and customer satisfaction.

• Developing global traffic policies aimed at consistently improving latency, availability, and resource utilization.

• Automating operational processes and creating frameworks that eliminate toil while minimizing manual and repetitive tasks.

• Partnering with engineering and SRE teams to construct scalable, resilient systems and resolve intricate performance challenges across services, networks, and geographical areas.

• Implementing and refining monitoring, alerting, logging, and analytics systems to proactively identify, address, and avert issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related engineering discipline.

• Have experience with Python, Go, Bash, or comparable scripting languages.

• Exhibit fluency in Linux CLI/shell, possess extensive knowledge of Linux/Unix internals, and demonstrate expertise with the network protocol stack, distributed systems, and systems design.

• Show experience in creating SQL queries for trend analysis, troubleshooting, and reporting purposes.

• Hold experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a related field.

• Be proficient in monitoring, alerting, and logging platforms (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus).

• Experience with Lisp and Linear Programming is a plus.
