Performance Consultant – Automation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Developing and maintaining intricate PowerShell scripts and modules to automate routine administrative tasks such as user provisioning, patch management, and backups.

• Crafting and enhancing scripts for configuration management, deployment pipelines (CI/CD), and system monitoring.

• Creating custom cmdlets and functions to expand PowerShell capabilities tailored to specific organizational requirements.

• Designing Liquid templates to fulfill customer specifications in Runbooks.

• Integrating PowerShell scripts with Microsoft Azure (Azure PowerShell), Office 365, SharePoint, Active Directory, and various other Microsoft services.

• Collaborating with DevOps, system administrators, and security teams to standardize automation methodologies and ensure compliance.

• Debugging and troubleshooting scripts, analyzing errors, and ensuring idempotency and robust error handling.

• Documenting scripts, modules, and automation workflows for future maintenance and knowledge sharing purposes.

• Implementing security best practices in scripts, including credential management, secure string handling, and adherence to execution policies.

• Monitoring and optimizing script performance to minimize execution time and decrease resource utilization.

• Keeping abreast of the latest PowerShell versions, new cmdlets, Desired State Configuration (DSC), and emerging automation technologies (Azure Automation, Desired State Configuration).

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience.

• Proficiency in PowerShell (preferably PowerShell 5.1 or PowerShell 7+) and LiquidJS, covering scripting, module creation, and Desired State Configuration (DSC).

• A minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in automating Windows environments utilizing PowerShell scripts.

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, and IIS.

• Familiarity with Azure services and Azure PowerShell cmdlets for cloud automation.

• Experience with version control systems (Git, Azure Repos) and integrating scripts into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins).

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and capability to debug complex scripts in production settings.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• Ability to communicate and present effectively at all levels, including senior management and C-Suite, to both technical and non-technical audiences.
