Per Diem Pharmacist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Serve as a clinical authority on prior authorization assessments and evaluations in line with clinical standards and covered plan design.

• Analyze, assess, and resolve all assigned clinical reviews through thorough case evaluations and direct engagement with physicians, aligned with EmpiRx Health’s Population Health Management model.

• Conduct peer-to-peer reviews with providers as required or upon request.

• Communicate clinical decisions promptly within established turnaround times to prescribers, members, and healthcare professionals, adhering to set approval and denial protocols.

• Monitor and proactively identify clinical interventions to ensure compliance with clinical savings guarantees.

• Examine and evaluate contemporary clinical literature to support recommendations and inform decision-making.

• Collaborate with clinical technicians and prior authorization team members to streamline clinical review requests, address escalations, and respond to inquiries.

• Effectively use pharmacy management software for case documentation and communication.

• Leverage external clinical and drug information resources (e.g., IPD, Policy Reporter, UpToDate, MediSpan) to enhance reviews, decision-making, and awareness of emerging pharmaceuticals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Pharm.D. degree from an accredited college of pharmacy (Required).

• At least 3 years of pharmacy experience in clinical, PBM, or managed care environments.

• Prior experience in prior authorization, utilization management, or health plan operations is preferred.

• Active Pharmacist License in good standing (Required).

• Strong clinical judgment and analytical skills.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.

• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and pharmacy systems.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
