This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act as the main point of contact for employee inquiries and HR requirements.
• Oversee all leaves of absence in collaboration with our leave management partner, Tilt.
• Manage benefits administration, covering open enrollment, qualifying life events, and coordination with brokers/carriers.
• Organize and carry out company offsite events, virtual team gatherings, and cultural initiatives.
• Sustain and enhance the Rippling HRIS, ensuring data integrity, reporting accuracy, and streamlined workflows.
• Take charge of compliance administration, which includes maintaining the employee handbook and policies, conducting exemption analyses, facilitating the ADA interactive process, and monitoring multi-state employment laws.
• Develop and maintain People Operations resources on our internal wiki.
• Enhance People Operations policies, processes, and initiatives.
• Report directly to the VP of People and work collaboratively with the People Operations Coordinator, People Business Partner, and external partners.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in People Operations or Human Resources.
• Friendly and approachable communication style, comfortable acting as the main contact for a diverse employee base.
• Sound judgment in handling ambiguous or sensitive employee matters with discretion and tact.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing organization-wide culture programs that align with company objectives.
• Ability to independently oversee all aspects of benefits administration.
• Experience in compliance administration, including knowledge of multi-state employment law, policy formulation, and handbook upkeep.
• Strong proficiency in HRIS platforms, with a preference for Rippling.
• Highly organized and self-motivated, with the capability to manage multiple priorities without close supervision.
• Strong accountability and follow-through on recurring tasks.
• Residing in the San Diego, CA area is required.
• Preference for in-person attendance 2–4 days per month.
• SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred.
