This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take charge of the operational foundation of the People function, encompassing HRIS administration, payroll, benefits, leave management, compliance, and the design of HR processes.
• Act as the primary administrator for Rippling, responsible for configuration, workflows, integrations, access controls, and ensuring data integrity across all People systems.
• Oversee the daily management of the PEO relationship, ensuring accuracy in employee data, carrier feeds, and addressing vendor escalations.
• Spearhead the assessment and implementation of future system migrations, including planning and executing a transition from PEO to in-house operations.
• Direct the complete payroll processing across various entities, covering off-cycle payroll, bonuses, and intricate transactions.
• Manage and audit compensation adjustments to ensure precision, appropriate approvals, and timely processing in payroll.
• Demonstrate knowledge of California wage and hour regulations.
• Supervise compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Administer benefits across MSO and PC frameworks.
• Oversee all leave of absence programs comprehensively, including CFRA, PDL, PFL, SDI, STD/LTD, and parental leave.
• Manage core People Operations workflows such as onboarding, offboarding, job changes, and organizational updates.
• Ensure HR compliance throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Keep abreast of changes in California and federal employment law, proactively identifying necessary policy or process adjustments.
• Assist with audits, regulatory filings, and data requests.
• Maintain precise employee records and develop recurring People metrics.
• 4–6 years of experience in People Operations or HR Operations within a dynamic, multi-entity or multi-state setting.
• Strong hands-on experience with HRIS, particularly Rippling; must be capable of managing system administration beyond mere end-user functionality.
• Familiarity with operating in a PEO environment, possessing working knowledge of PEO structures, constraints, and transition strategies.
• Extensive payroll operations experience with in-depth knowledge of California wage and hour laws, multi-entity payroll processing, and compensation adjustment administration.
• Practical experience in California leave administration, including CFRA, PDL, PFL, SDI, and Workers’ Compensation.
• Proven capability to establish processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and infrastructure from the ground up.
• Exceptional attention to detail; capable of managing sensitive information discreetly and functioning independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience within a healthcare or clinical organization, including familiarity with provider compensation structures (e.g., wRVU-based pay).
