This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Act as a reliable partner to the VP of People, providing consistent support across People initiatives.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and line managers regarding daily people-related matters.
• Offer guidance on policies, procedures, and operational processes.
• Manage People operations to ensure that employee lifecycle processes are efficient, precise, compliant, and continuously enhanced.
• Mentor and develop line managers to effectively lead their teams and address people-related issues consistently.
• Review, update, and assist in formulating HR policies and documentation that comply with legal standards.
• Oversee employee relations casework from start to finish, encompassing disciplinary, grievance, absence, and capability issues.
• Provide advice and coaching to managers throughout employee relations processes and escalate issues to the VP of People when necessary.
• Assist with recruitment and retention activities, which include managing candidate pipelines and implementing best practices for hiring, interviewing, and onboarding.
• Take ownership of cyclical People activities such as performance reviews, engagement surveys, and compensation and benefits assessments.
• Analyze people data and case trends to identify recurring challenges and suggest improvements.
• Support initiatives focused on high performance, engagement, well-being, and company culture.
• Build strong relationships across the organization and establish yourself as a trusted first point of contact.
• Seek opportunities to simplify, enhance, or fortify People policies, processes, systems, and operational methods.
• CIPD qualification (minimum Level 5) and a commitment to staying updated on employment law and best practices.
• Solid working knowledge of core HR disciplines including employee relations, performance management, and the complete employee lifecycle.
• Adequate experience to independently advise managers on most daily matters.
• Strong practical understanding of UK employment law and its practical application.
• Experience in managing employee relations casework, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and capability issues.
• Experience in preparing documentation and providing support or advice during hearings.
• Comprehensive understanding of people operations and HRIS platforms, preferably BambooHR.
• Ability to ensure accurate and compliant employee lifecycle administration.
• Experience in developing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
• Proficiency in utilizing people data insights to identify trends and convert findings into actionable recommendations.
• Strong coaching, influencing, and communication abilities.
• Capacity to build trusted relationships and manage sensitive situations with confidentiality.
• Dependable, proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of exercising sound judgment.
