This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Review and submit tax-related documents or filings, which include federal, state, or local tax returns, declarations, or extensions.
• Prepare reports for tax planning and estimate the organization's tax obligations.
• Collaborate with senior management to devise strategies aimed at minimizing tax liabilities.
• Stay informed about changes in tax codes and ensure continuous compliance.
• Conduct research on legal issues, concerns, solutions, and filing positions that comply with local, federal, and international tax regulations.
• Ensure that the Payroll Tax department accurately and timely processes liability payments, tax returns, and notices.
• Establish and uphold procedures to minimize payroll tax discrepancies and guarantee accuracy.
• Verify adherence to laws, regulations, organizational policies, and procedures.
• Inform leadership of regulatory updates and suggest/implement necessary changes.
• Resolve escalated issues involving clients or internal departments.
• Ensure the team complies with payroll tax regulations.
• Provide coaching to employees and conduct performance reviews.
• Carry out periodic audits and maintain tax records to ensure compliance.
• Address payroll tax discrepancies by analyzing information and making necessary adjustments.
• Manage and update the payroll tax system.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant field concepts and principles.
• At least four years of experience in multi-state, multi-jurisdiction, high volume Payroll Tax.
• A minimum of two years in a Supervisor or Manager role is required.
• Experience in PEO or a related industry is preferred.
• Required hands-on experience with tax return processing.
• Strong understanding of multi-state payroll, as well as federal, state, and local wage laws is mandatory.
• Experience with MasterTax and Prism/HRP is preferred.
• Certification as a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamentals of Payroll Certification (FPC) is required.
