This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Accurately process intricate payrolls across multiple states and ensure timely delivery.
• Oversee garnishments, tax deductions, benefit contributions, and payroll reconciliations.
• Review payroll submissions prepared by Payroll Coordinators before final approval.
• Address payroll tax notices, correspondence from agencies, and compliance-related matters.
• Provide clients with guidance on payroll best practices, regulatory adherence, and process enhancement.
• Support and mentor Payroll Coordinators by offering technical advice and answering payroll inquiries.
• Enhance payroll processes, automation, quality controls, and operational effectiveness.
• Facilitate the onboarding of new payroll clients, including system setup, implementation, training, and ongoing assistance.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Provide exceptional client service while guaranteeing precise and timely payroll processing.
• At least 4 years of progressive experience in payroll management.
• Practical experience with Gusto and advanced payroll software solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of multi-state payroll processing, garnishments, levies, and benefit reconciliations.
• Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Proven experience in addressing payroll tax notices and communicating with government agencies.
• Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC), either completed or in progress, is preferred.
• Experience in mentoring team members and providing technical payroll support.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and client advisory capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
• Willingness to commit approximately 10–20 hours per week over the long term.
• Competitive pay of $30.00 per hour.
