This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Prepare and process regular and off-cycle payroll, ensuring both accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
• Maintain payroll records for employees, which includes tax forms, deductions for benefits, and direct deposit details.
• Calculate and verify pay adjustments, including overtime, bonuses, and other compensation elements.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Address payroll discrepancies and promptly resolve employee inquiries.
• Generate payroll reports and supply data for financial analysis or audits.
• Reconcile benefit plan data with payroll records using the Everything Benefits reconciliation system.
• Align benefit records with the general ledger system.
• Ensure timely remittance of benefit deductions to appropriate vendors, including 401k contributions.
• Accrue and reconcile payroll liabilities.
• Prepare explanations for fluctuations in payroll, benefits, and expenses.
• Conduct quarterly reconciliations for payroll to the general ledger.
• Stay informed about payroll laws and related reporting regulations, ensuring the payroll system is updated accordingly.
• Process quarterly and annual payroll reconciliations within the payroll system.
• Prepare year-end tax documents, including W-2 forms.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and reports.
• Serve as a primary contact for employee inquiries related to payroll.
• Collaborate closely with HR to manage employee data, including new hires, terminations, and salary adjustments.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5-7+ years of experience in complex payroll processing, including tax, benefits, and general ledger reconciliation.
• Certification as a Payroll Professional is advantageous.
• Proficient in payroll software; experience with UKG Ready is a plus.
• Strong understanding of payroll laws and best practices related to tax regulations.
• Exceptional organizational skills with a strong focus on detail and accuracy.
