This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Oversees, directs, and manages the daily payroll operations for a multi-state organization.
• Mentors, motivates, and develops Payroll Team Members; exemplifies excellence in soft skills through actions and decisions.
• Strategically plans with exceptional organizational and time management capabilities.
• Ensures accurate maintenance of payroll records for every payroll cycle processed.
• Safeguards team member trust and upholds payroll operations by managing confidential information securely.
• Reconciles bi-weekly file feeds and funding related to 401k, HSA, and FSA files.
• Addresses payroll-related inquiries and resolves issues for team members.
• Collaborates effectively with HR and Accounting teams.
• Coordinates auditor requests and liaises with external vendors.
• Engages in payroll testing, training, and documentation processes.
• Informs the organization about upcoming legislative changes and provides regular updates.
• Handles processing tasks as needed.
• Communicates with state-level agencies regarding payroll issues.
• A Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
• Demonstrated experience in leading a team is essential.
• At least 5 years of relevant payroll experience is required.
• Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred, though not mandatory.
• Strong ability to manage spreadsheets, reports, records, and forms with meticulous attention to detail.
• Possesses mathematical aptitude.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills are necessary.
• Experience with file feeds and integrations is valuable.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is expected.
• Comprehensive understanding of multi-state payroll laws, including California regulations, taxation, withholding orders, proper and improper deductions, and FLSA as it relates to timekeeping and payments.
• Strong knowledge of payroll software and systems is essential.
