This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage comprehensive payroll activities, including audits, reconciliations, year-end processes, garnishments, benefits, equity, and special payments.

• Ensure adherence to IRS, CRA, Puerto Rico Hacienda, and relevant state/provincial/local regulations.

• Spearhead the design, documentation, and testing of payroll controls and risk mitigation strategies.

• Maintain tax setup per jurisdiction, ensuring updates and compliance with legislative changes.

• Uphold confidentiality and protect sensitive payroll and employee information.

• Lead and mentor payroll specialists and analysts, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and a positive employee experience.

• Develop and maintain payroll dashboards and KPIs (accuracy, timeliness, SLA performance, tax error rate, processing costs).

• Utilize payroll data, dashboards, and AI-driven insights to identify trends, minimize defects, and enhance operational efficiencies.

• Convey insights, risks, and opportunities to leadership.

• Oversee multi-country payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulations across all jurisdictions.

• Manage relationships with external payroll vendors and improve integrations with HRIS/Workday teams.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of progressive payroll experience with substantial exposure to U.S. multistate payroll.

• Strong expertise in Canadian payroll and Puerto Rico payroll.

• Extensive knowledge of payroll laws and compliance across North America.

• Experience in managing multi-country payroll teams or leading payroll functions.

• Proficient in Workday and significant payroll systems (ADP, Deel, etc.).

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting capabilities.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex global environment.

• Experience in a shared services or Center of Excellence setting.

• Above-average computer skills, including EXCEL, WORD, and various vendor applications.

• Excellent organizational skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with various management levels and staff personnel.
