Payroll Director – Department Head

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate the payroll team through consistent one-on-one meetings, constructive feedback, and discussions focused on career advancement.

• Oversee the comprehensive payroll processing for multiple clients across various states.

• Act as the primary escalation point for intricate payroll challenges and inquiries related to wage and tax legislation.

• Take ownership of quality assurance and compliance by implementing quality control processes, analyzing trends, and executing corrective measures.

• Manage team capacity, workload distribution, and resource utilization effectively.

• Promote continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging artificial intelligence and automation technologies.

• Collaborate with leadership, sales, and clients to facilitate onboarding and provide consulting services.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Accounting, or a related discipline is preferred.

• At least 7 years of payroll experience, encompassing multi-state and multi-client environments.

• A solid understanding of wage and tax regulations as well as payroll auditing processes.

• Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and developing payroll teams.

• Familiarity with payroll systems and proficiency in evaluating and optimizing tools.

• A dedication to accuracy, confidentiality, compliance, and sound decision-making.

• Strong collaborative leadership abilities and comfort working alongside executives and cross-functional teams.
