Payroll Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Conduct analysis of employee payments related to reimbursements prior to the entry of payments into the payroll system.

• Assist in the examination, investigation, and modification of time records to ensure precision in payroll completion.

• Manage bi-weekly timesheet processing and labor cost allocation at the conclusion of the timesheet period.

• Reconcile labor costs to guarantee that all employees receive compensation according to their recorded hours.

• Review biweekly payroll reports for correctness.

• Deliver annual training on timekeeping procedures.

• Review and follow up on tax forms to meet annual tax form requirements.

• Engage in special projects, including updates to accounting software and audits.

• Familiarize oneself with HR policies relevant to timekeeping to assist in responding to inquiries from employees and managers.

• Provide cross-training for colleagues to ensure coverage in their absence.

• Perform additional departmental responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent years of experience.

• A minimum of five years of experience in labor and payroll accounting and processing.

• Familiarity with general accounting principles.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Preference for candidates with additional experience in general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.

• Experience with Government Travel Regulations is advantageous.

• Proficiency in Costpoint and Deltek Time & Expense is a plus.

• Capability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

• Willingness to occasionally work outside of regular hours to fulfill specific project needs.
