This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage payroll processing for a diverse clientele with different pay schedules (weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly)
• Verify payroll information including earnings, deductions, taxes, and adjustments
• Review and reconcile payroll before finalizing and transmitting it
• Handle off-cycle payrolls, bonuses, and necessary adjustments
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and delivered on time to clients
• Act as the main payroll contact for your assigned client portfolio
• Clearly communicate payroll timelines, requirements, and resolutions for any issues
• Provide consultative assistance regarding payroll best practices and compliance
• Foster strong relationships and maintain high levels of client satisfaction
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Assist with tax filings, amendments, and year-end processes (W-2s, 941s, etc.)
• Keep abreast of changes in payroll legislation that may affect clients
• Audit payroll inputs and outputs to identify discrepancies
• Investigate and resolve payroll issues, variances, and client queries
• Collaborate with internal teams (tax, benefits, HRIS) to resolve issues
• Utilize payroll software (e.g., UKG Pro, ADP, Workday) for payroll processing
• Maintain and update payroll configurations, earnings/deductions, and employee data
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and enhance efficiency
• Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain payroll processing records
• Accurately track time across clients, projects, and payroll cycles
• Achieve utilization and billable hour targets
• Assist in forecasting and balancing workload across the client portfolio
• 3–5+ years of experience in multi-client payroll processing
• Extensive experience with payroll processing across multiple frequencies
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll taxes
• Familiarity with payroll systems (UKG preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and precision
• Capability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
• CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification (Preferred)
• Experience in a managed services or consulting environment (Preferred)
• Year-end payroll experience (W-2s, audits, corrections) (Preferred)
• A degree from an accredited university
