This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Accurately and efficiently process multi-state bi-weekly payroll using ADP Workforce Now.
• Maintain employee payroll documentation and data within the payroll system.
• Handle payroll-related funding activities, which include contributions for 401(k), HSA, profit-sharing, and other benefits.
• Prepare and submit federal, state, and local payroll tax filings along with unemployment reports.
• Address employee payroll inquiries and resolve any payroll-related concerns.
• Calculate, prepare, and distribute statements and payments for sales commissions.
• Allocate commissions and create supporting schedules and necessary adjustments.
• Prepare commission expense schedules and reconcile transactions related to commissions.
• Act as a resource for sales representatives and internal stakeholders regarding commission inquiries.
• Prepare recurring journal entries, which include payroll accruals, PTO accruals, benefit allocations, operating deposits, and petty cash entries.
• Complete account reconciliations and conduct analysis as required.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Generate payroll, commission, and accounting reports for management review.
• Support budgeting efforts, special projects, and various accounting initiatives.
• Lead the preparation of year-end payroll and accounting audit workpapers.
• Act as the main coordinator for the annual 401(k) audit.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payroll, commissions, and accounting.
• Facilitate process improvements related to payroll, reporting, systems, and internal controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be accepted.
• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, specifically with payroll processing duties.
• Recent practical experience with ADP Workforce Now.
• In-depth understanding of payroll processes, payroll tax regulations, and general accounting principles.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential employee and financial information with utmost discretion.
