
Payroll & Benefits Accountant – Part-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Oversee the bi-weekly payroll processing submissions to Innovu’s payroll processor, Paylocity, ensuring accuracy at all times.
• Maintain comprehensive employee records, which include new hire setups, terminations, salary changes, and tax elections.
• Review and validate timesheets; address any discrepancies with managers as necessary.
• Serve as the main point of contact for employee inquiries regarding paystubs, taxes, or timesheets.
• Uphold strict confidentiality regarding sensitive payroll and employee data.
• Examine payroll tax filings prepared by our payroll processor, ensuring their accuracy, and conduct state tax registrations for income tax withholdings and State Unemployment.
• Complete other payroll-related submissions and transmissions, such as 401k contributions and HSA submissions.
• Ensure all payroll activities conform to local, state, and federal regulations.
• Update Innovu’s archives to guarantee that all payroll, payroll tax, and benefit records are systematically archived.
• Manage the administration of benefit programs, including utilizing benefit carrier websites and reconciling payroll and benefit vendor invoices for accuracy.
• Collaborate with HR to address discrepancies.
• Oversee the Concur expense platform, which includes reviewing and processing employee expense reports, ensuring adherence to Innovu's expense reimbursement policy, and coordinating timely reimbursements through payroll.
• Based on hiring forecasts, accurately predict future payroll cash requirements to support Innovu’s cash forecasting.
• Assist with the monthly accounting close and reporting cycle by updating vacation accruals, payroll liabilities, and performing other financial reporting tasks.
• Lead year-end payroll activities, such as W-2 preparation.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in processing and accounting for payroll in small companies and handling payroll taxes.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to doing “whatever it takes” to support Innovu’s growth and the Finance Team’s priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Advanced Excel and spreadsheet skills, including proficiency in pivot tables and vlookup/hlookup formulas.
• Strong customer service mindset to effectively meet the needs of Finance’s internal clients.
• Proven ability to learn new software applications quickly.
