Payroll Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in comprehensive payroll processing across various African nations, overseeing everything from input validation to disbursement under the guidance of the Payroll Manager.

• Evaluate payroll inputs submitted by HR for completeness and accuracy, and follow up on any missing or inconsistent information prior to the cut-off date.

• Implement approved payroll modifications, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, commissions, leave, and benefits.

• Manage submissions with external payroll providers, monitor processing schedules, and resolve discrepancies prior to approval.

• Prepare payroll journals and reconcile accounts related to payroll on the balance sheet.

• Produce recurring and one-off payroll reports, and assist with month-end and year-end reporting and audits.

• Professionally address employee payroll inquiries.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations, statutory deductions, and labor laws across our African markets, ensuring internal controls, policies, and process documentation are compliant and ready for audit.

⛳️ Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related discipline.

• 1–3 years of experience in payroll.

• Practical experience with payroll software.

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities, with the capability to manage confidential payroll information with integrity.
