This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +5 more countries.
• Accurately manage the complete end-to-end payroll process across multiple states for both clinical and administrative personnel.
• Verify the accuracy of payroll tax withholdings, garnishments, and benefits deductions and contributions across all four states.
• Review timesheets and payroll information prior to each payroll run, investigate any discrepancies, and document their root causes.
• Calculate and process final pay in accordance with state-specific timing regulations.
• Act as the main auditor for the HRIS, ensuring data integrity is maintained throughout the entire employee lifecycle.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local wage-and-hour regulations and labor laws, while facilitating updates in response to regulatory changes.
• Develop and maintain a Payroll Playbook that includes documented standard operating procedures (SOPs) and processes ready for backup.
• Assist with internal and external audits, such as those for workers’ compensation and 401(k)/benefits.
• Manage employee benefits, including enrollment, qualifying life events, terminations, and support during open enrollment periods.
• Aid in onboarding, status transitions, transfers, and offboarding by providing accurate and timely updates to systems.
• Serve as a confidential and responsive resource for inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and HR policies.
• Generate recurring and ad hoc payroll and HR reports for leadership while supporting initiatives aimed at process improvement.
• A minimum of 3 years of direct payroll experience, including processing across multiple states.
• Prior experience in healthcare, ABA, or a multi-site hourly workforce setting is preferred.
• Proficiency in UKG Ready, Gusto, or similar payroll/HRIS systems is required.
• Strong skills in Excel or Google Sheets, including the use of pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis techniques.
• Solid understanding of payroll compliance, encompassing FLSA, multi-state wage-and-hour regulations, garnishments, and payroll taxes.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills.
• High integrity with meticulous attention to detail and discretion regarding sensitive information.
• Ability to thrive under strict deadlines and handle time-sensitive situations with composure.
