This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Accurately process multi-state payroll in Workday, ensuring timely execution of regular and off-cycle runs.
• Reconcile payroll data prior to each processing cycle and address any discrepancies.
• Oversee stock/equity transaction settlement dates and ensure timely tax deposits are executed.
• Conduct audits of payroll results to ensure accuracy and compliance standards are met.
• Execute and validate tax deposits using Workday and ADP SmartCompliance.
• Maintain payroll records in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Utilize AI-driven payroll tools, including Workday Payroll Agents, within processing and audit workflows.
• Keep track of payroll tax thresholds and deadlines.
• Assist in W-2 processing, ACA reporting, and payroll tax reconciliation.
• Support audits and regulatory inquiries by preparing necessary payroll documentation.
• Monitor and document payroll timelines effectively.
• Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Total Rewards on compensation adjustments, new hire onboarding, terminations, and leave processing.
• Address employee inquiries related to payroll.
• Document and standardize payroll processes.
• Contribute to enhancements in Workday and improvements within People Operations.
• 3–5 years of direct payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state setting.
• Required hands-on experience with Workday Payroll.
• Familiarity with equity or stock-based payroll is highly advantageous.
• Solid understanding of ADP SmartCompliance and federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
• Knowledge of IRS deposit regulations and Form 941 reconciliation is essential.
• Proven ability to accurately manage tight and non-negotiable deadlines.
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing processes.
• Excellent and professional communication skills.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Willingness to utilize AI tools for workflow optimization.
• Experience with AI tools aimed at enhancing accuracy, efficiency, or process automation.
• Comfort with testing automation, prompts, and system functionalities.
• Demonstrates curiosity and adaptability.
• CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus, though not mandatory.
