This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Supervise employee information within the HRIS (Rippling) to maintain data accuracy, compliance, and appropriate documentation.
• Handle sensitive employee information and payroll-related reporting, including ongoing data review and analysis.
• Oversee the complete payroll operations for hourly, salaried, and complex employee structures, working in conjunction with Data and Finance teams to manage variable pay, bonuses, and clinical compensation models.
• Ensure that all payroll processes adhere to federal, state, and local labor laws and reporting requirements.
• Maintain and enhance payroll policies and internal controls to promote operational excellence.
• Oversee year-end payroll functions, including the creation and distribution of W-2s and other regulatory documents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in Finance, People, and Operations to develop effective and efficient systems for the company's long-term growth.
• Manage relationships with external payroll vendors and consultants to enhance service delivery.
• Streamline operational processes to eliminate bottlenecks and facilitate scalable organizational growth.
• Oversee the monthly benefits billing reconciliation process; audit carrier invoices against payroll deductions and enrollment data to ensure precision and resolve any discrepancies.
• Ensure prompt and accurate resolution of benefits inquiries.
• Monitor payroll and benefits tracking for employees on leave.
• Collaborate with carriers, brokers, and TPAs to address escalated claims issues and enrollment discrepancies.
• Work with People Team leadership to implement the annual Open Enrollment process, ensuring that system configuration, employee communications, and data transfers to carriers are conducted smoothly.
• Proven professional expertise in handling complex, multi-state payroll operations and practical experience in benefits operational administration.
• Advanced understanding of financial systems and payroll platforms. Familiarity with Rippling and Tilt is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of payroll and benefits regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, ACA, and FMLA. Experience supporting employee payroll and benefits in California is required.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a dedication to maintaining data integrity and confidentiality.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to convey actionable conclusions to various stakeholders.

• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and develop structured processes from the ground up.
