This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Manage the semi-monthly payroll for all staff utilizing UKG Pro and Workforce Management tools, ensuring precise payroll processing that complies with applicable state wage and hour regulations.
• Review payroll information for errors and inconsistencies prior to the closure of each pay cycle.
• Address employee payroll inquiries and resolve related issues in a timely manner.
• Handle payroll-related matters such as taxes, garnishments, and system configurations accurately.
• Assist managers with payroll-related queries, including timecard evaluations, approval processes, and troubleshooting UKG timekeeping challenges.
• Aid in the administration of employee benefits programs, which includes enrollments, life events, terminations, and carrier file transfers, serving as the primary contact for employee benefits inquiries.
• Ensure accurate employee records within UKG, encompassing pay rates, deductions, and tax withholdings.
• Contribute to year-end procedures, including the preparation of W-2 forms, management and distribution of commission letters, and reconciliation tasks.
• Assist with the oversight of the 401k plan, including the analysis and reconciliation of regular 401(k) reporting and compliance activities.
• Undertake additional ad-hoc tasks as required based on business needs.
• 1-2 years of direct experience in payroll processing, including full-cycle payroll operations.
• Knowledge of UKG (UltiPro or UKG Pro) and Kronos, or similar HRIS/payroll systems.
• Familiarity with California payroll laws, including overtime regulations, meal and rest break premiums, and final pay criteria.
• Understanding of federal payroll compliance standards (FLSA, tax obligations, W-2 reporting).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for conducting payroll audits and reconciling data.
• Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to identify and rectify payroll discrepancies.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities - you thrive on investigating and resolving issues.
• An associate degree or higher in Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience with multi-state payroll processing is preferred.
